This body of work is an attempt to visualize my thought process, complete with interruptions, through the use of the surrealist’s exercise of automatic drawing and painted geometric abstract shapes. For me, this vast white space represents the physical place in my mind where these drawn dream-like images of biomorphic oddities and peculiar constructs can exist. Using silverpoint as a drawing medium gives these images a feathery, yet tangible, weight and through the physical process of oxidization becomes a metaphor for waning thoughts. The inclusion of painted colors and shapes reference man-made objects that I have come across in everyday life.
